Residential Life

The Office of Residential Life is looking forward to the opening of the 2009-10 academic year. Please be reminded residence halls open to first-year and transfer students on Friday, August 21 with check-in from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., unless you are a participant in August SOAR in which students move in on Thursday August 20.  Directions for checking in can be found on the previous page under "Arrival On Campus-Returning Students". Residence halls open for returning students on Saturday, August 22 and check-in will continue on Sunday, August 23.  Returning students may obtain keys from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both days.

*Arrival prior to the above scheduled hall openings must be pre-approved and scheduled through the appropriate coach or College staff member coordinating the campus related activity which requires students to return early.

Students sitting outside the Mae ApartmentsThe entire staff eagerly awaits the return of our students for the 2009-10 academic year. We look forward to working with you in making sure that your residence hall experience serves to enhance your academic experience.

Residence Hall Living Things to Remember

The average size of residence hall rooms is approximately 11' x 14' (rooms vary in size and shape). Refer to the Residential Life webpage for more information regarding room size.  Each double room is equipped with two beds, two desks & chairs, closets, chest of drawers, and mini blinds. All college provided furniture must remain in the student's room for the duration of the academic year.

Mattresses are 80 inches long, so fitted sheets must be extra long to insure proper fit.  The use of nails, double-sided foam tape, or anything that would produce holes or cause damage to the room are not permitted.

Seaton HallLofts are only permitted in fraternities and must conform to the loft policy and an agreement must be submitted to the The Office of Residential Life. Loft guidelines and agreement forms are available in the Office of Residential Life. Agreement forms must be turned in prior to assembling the loft.

Due to the intense heat generated by halogen light bulbs, HALOGEN lamps are NOT permitted in any student residence.
