New Students Registered for August SOAR
Keep in mind this is move-in day for August SOAR participants. Please bring all of your personal items that you will need for the school year as you will be moving into your assigned room for the fall semester. The first August SOAR program begins promptly at 9:30 a.m., so please allow ample time to arrive and unpack your car. While this time frame will most likely not allow you to unpack everything in your room, additional time is built into the weekend schedule for students to settle and personalize their rooms. All August SOAR students are required to stay for First-Year Information programs that run beginning Friday afternoon through Sunday (August 21-23). New International Students and International Transfer Students International first-year and international transfer students will arrive on Monday, August 17. Students will be assisted by shuttle pick-up at the Detroit Metro Airport. Orientation will begin for international first year students and international transfer students on Tuesday, August 18. Important sessions for all new students will begin on Friday, August 21, with floor meetings at 3:30p.m. See the FYI schedule of events on page 18 of this newsletter. Returning upper class students may arrive on campus beginning Saturday, August, 22. Check-in will continue Sunday, August, 23. Students may check in at their respective halls from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on either day. Students living in Dean Hall should go to Mitchell Towers to check in and obtain keys. Students living in the Apartments, Annexes, and Fraternity Houses should go to The Office of Residential Life in the Ferguson building, room 124 to check in and obtain keys.
