Alumni Engagement

Homecoming –  October 2 - 4, 2009

At Albion, "What are you thinking?" is a question we can't stop asking.  This year alumni will have the opportunity to tell us "What you are thinking?" at Homecoming 2009.  The top submissions will be posted on the Albion website throughout the 2009-1010 school year.

And this year’s Homecoming proves to be an activity-packed weekend as usual. On Friday, October 2, 2009 join us for the Briton Classic golf tournament in the morning.  Friday evening brings a variety of options. We will be hosting our Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Baldwin Hall. The evening is sure to heat up with the Alumni and Student Bonfire and Pep Rally at the Beese-Havens Boathouse.

Alumni at the Homecoming luncheonHomecoming activities continue on Saturday morning with the Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony where alumni will be honored this year in the Kellogg Center. The All-Class Picnic Luncheon begins at noon; then cheer on Albion as they battle Olivet College on the gridiron. Stop by Bobbitt Visual Arts Center to take in the "Photographs into Graphic Paintings" works by alum Charles Wallschlaeger.  You won't want to miss the open houses that our academic departments and student organizations are hosting as well.  the day is also filled with reunions for class years ending in "4" or "9".  On Sunday, complete your Homecoming experience by attending the Albion College Music Department's traditional Homecoming concert.  We hope you, your friends and your parents can attend Homecoming 2009!  Read more about Homecoming online at  http://www.albion.edu/homecoming/.

The change of format mirrors what is happening in the field of journalism nationwide. The biggest impact for the Pleiad will be the more timely reporting of stories. The use of electronic media will also allow for new features such as video, audio and other interactive elements.
