First Day Attendance Policy
Instructors
MAY drop from their course any student who is registered for the
course and not present during the first scheduled meeting. If a student
cannot be present at the first class session, s/he must make special
arrangements with the instructor prior to the first class meeting to be
certain of a place in the course. If you do not attend the first day of
class you MAY be dropped from the course but should not assume this
will happen. Complete the drop/add process to confirm your schedule changes.
You should confirm your class status via the Web using
ACIS (see instructions under
Class Schedules).
All changes in your class schedule must be completed in the Registrar’s
Office.
The Drop/Add Period
During the period from
August 25-September 2,
2008, students may drop or add courses to their
schedule. This action must be completed by paper in the Registrar's Office
by the deadline.
If you have questions about changing your schedule,
the following individuals are able to assist you: your academic advisor, the
course instructor, and the Registrar’s Office.
The Credit/No Credit Period
During
the period of August 25-September 8,
2008,
students may elect to take one course for
a Credit/No Credit grade. A grade of 2.0 or higher in a course is reflected
on your academic record with a grade of CR (Credit). A grade of 1.7, or lower,
is reflected on your academic record with a grade of NC (No Credit). The
grade of NC carries no credit. Majors, minor and Education courses cannot be
taken Credit/No Credit. Although you may take mode and category classes
Credit/No Credit, you will need to repeat any NC you receive; whereas if you
complete a mode or category requirement with a numeric grade of 1.0, or
higher, you will
receive credit. Seniors should be particularly cautious in selecting courses
Credit/No Credit. Once you select this option, you will not be allowed to
change back to the regular grading scale. All students should be careful
when selecting the Credit/No Credit option. Seek the advice and guidance of
your academic advisor, the course instructor, or the Registrar’s Office.
