First Year Experience Seminar Trip, December 9-17, 2007
Albion students enrolled in the First Year Experience Seminar "Puerto
Rico: Boricua to Colonial West Side Story...and Jennifer Lopez" will be
traveling to Puerto Rico to examine firsthand the issues raised by the
course. The group will spend time in metropolitan San Juan as well as
traveling to the southern city of Ponce, the radio telescope in Arecibo,
the island of Vieques, the El Yunque Rainforest, and the Camuy Caverns.

Holocaust Studies Program Service-Learning Project, May 12-20, 2007
Albion students and staff traveling in Poland for the
Holocaust Studies
Program Service-Learning Project will post blogs about their
experiences restoring a neglected Jewish cemetery, visiting sites
related to the Holocaust and Jewish history, and touring Nazi death
camps. Please check back often for photos and impressions of the 2007

Expedition 2006-07
During the austral summer 2006-07, Albion faculty, students,
and alumni will be in Antarctica working on multiple geology research
projects funded by the National Science Foundation. The projects include
studies of ancient climate archives, submarine volcanoes, and
meteorites. Participants in these projects include Dr. Thom Wilch
(Geological Sciences) and
Dr. Nicolle Zellner (Physics
and Astronomy); students Paul Roberts, ’07, and Lisa
Colville, ’07; and alumna Dr. Ellen Cowan, ’79. This travel
blog is authored by Thom Wilch, Associate Professor of Geological
Sciences.

Briton Singers Make Music in Budapest
Director Doug Rose Reports on International Choir Competition
The Briton Singers skipped the first week of classes in April at the
invitation of the International Choir Competition and Festival of
Budapest, Hungary, where they have been singing with other choirs from
around the world. The ensemble was one of a small handful of groups
invited from North America to participate in one of Europe’s
longest-running international choir festivals.
