Faculty ProfileConstance Moore Adjunct Assistant Professor B.S., 1991, State University of New York, Binghampton Ph.D., 1998, University of Nebraska Medical Center. Appointed: 2006 _______________________________________________________________________________ Expertise Areas: Neuroendocrinology and neuronal control of respiration _______________________________________________________________________________ Current Courses: Biology 210L: Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory Biology 306: Functional Neuroanatomy ______________________________________________________________________________ Research Interests: Dr. Moore is a neuroanatomist interested in the hormone-sensitive changes in the anatomical, cellular and molecular processes that modulate the activity of the respiratory related autonomic nervous system. Most recent research focused on the neurochemical organization of neurons that mediate sleep-related modulations of the autonomic functions and motor activities of upper airway dilating and constricting muscles. Dr. Moore combines neuroanatomical tract tracing, immunocytochemical and electron microscopical techniques to investigate ultrastructural anatomy of neuronal networks. Future research goals include the incorporation of electrophysiological techniques and methods. _______________________________________________________________________________ Selected Publications:
