Albion Students Attend "Animal-Borne Imaging" Symposium in Washington, D.C.

Four Albion College students, two current and two alums, attended a symposium sponsored by the National Geographic Society, the Office of Naval Research, and the National Science Foundation in October in Washington, D.C. The conference explored uses of animal-borne video and data acquisition systems such as CritterCam, an instrument package developed by Greg Marshall for the National Geographic Society. Used by Dr. Carrier in his field studies of shark behavior, the systems have been used on nearly 50 different species including recent deployments on terrestrial animals.
