How Do I Apply for Operation Bentley? Each year, Operation Bentley seeks to attract top students from high schools across Michigan to participate in the program. Students come from all around the state, including the Upper Peninsula. Operation Bentley is therefore composed of students from rural, urban, and small city areas with differing views on effective forms of government, personal and political beliefs, and prior experiences. The Staff of Operation Bentley receives more applications than the number of seats available (50 girls and 50 boys). Therefore, entrance is highly selective and some capable students must be turned away. Admission criteria are high school grades, type of courses taken, extra-curricular activities, and significant personal experiences that may add to the diversity of the group. Students who are selected to participate receive full scholarships to Operation Bentley, generously funded by the Bentley Foundation of Owosso, Michigan. The only cost to the student remains the cost of travel from your home to Albion College. The cost of instruction, materials, activities, food, and lodging are all covered in the scholarship!
