ACADEMICS

At The ATO House we pride ourselves in working hard in the classroom and helping each other to succeed.  There is a rich history of academic excellence in the Beta Omicron Chapter.  We are consistently ranked in the top 10 among all chapters in the nation for GPA.  We hold our standards high as we know that our academics will carry us on into our futures that we choose.  Below you will find our accomplishments for our Academic Success.

 

Excellence In Scholarship Award

This award recognizes chapters that achieve a GPA of a 3.0 or higher for the entire chapter over the course of an entire academic year.

True Merit Award

The true merit award was created in 1969 as the chapter efficiency award.  This was ATO's first official award given out.  In 1975 it was changed to the chapter excellence award, then in 1979 it was finally changed to the true merit award.  The true merit award is given to as many chapters who achieve a level of operation that is worthy of recognition.

-Sam Hogg class of 05' was awarded ATO's National Undergraduate Scholarship which he was chosen from over 100 applicants for this award.

Along with True Merit are several tiers of awards a chapter can win for specifically standing out in a certain category which they call an Excellence Award.

Recruitment Advantage Excellence Award

This award founded in 2003 annually recognizes ATO's chapters that demonstrate an excellence in chapter recruitment with a special emphasis on chapter growth, yearlong recruitment and a high level of retention from Pledgeship to initiation.

Anderson Gold Communications Award

Established in 1992, the award was named after Joseph R, Anderson, considered the second found of Alpha Tau Omega.  This award is presented to the chapter with the best overall communication efforts in public relations, recruiting and campus and community involvement.  There are 4 levels of this Award with the Anderson award as tops followed by the Bird Silver Award for 2nd place, the Krahling Bronze award for 3rd place and the Excellence in Communication award rounding it out.

Erskine Mayo Ross IMPACT Award for Outstanding Charitable Giving

This honor, named after founder Ross, whose original gift of $5,000 in 1935 established the ATO Foundation.  This award recognizes chapters who exemplify outstanding charitable giving in their communities and beyond.
