Subjects: Classes are offered in language and local culture studies and in the music arts.

Prerequisites: At least a GPA of 3.0 and the student must be in good standing with Albion College. The student must also have Junior or Senior standing at Albion College. No language prerequisites are required for classes being taught in English however for classes instructed in German the student must have at least 4 semesters of college level German.

Credit: Up to 4.0 Albion College Units

Length: one semester / academic year.

Housing: Private apartments, shared apartments and IES student resident halls. Students will be living with other IES abroad students.

Costs: Same as Albion College room and board fees. Additional expenses include transportation to the program, books, local travel and personal expenses.

Comments: The classes in the IES Vienna program may either be taught in English or German. Classes are offered in both languages in music history, music theory, music performance studies and language and culture studies. Students may enroll in the University of Music and Performing Arts or the University of Vienna. Several field trips are also available with destinations such as: Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Berlin and a ski resort in the Austrian Alps. The IES Vienna program allows the student to improve their language skills greatly (if the student is being taught in a language other than English) and also gives the student the opportunity to experience the full culture of Vienna and the surrounding area.
