1976 Class Notes

Jill Golden-Clawson, ’76, was recently appointed an associate professor of pediatrics for the University of South Carolina Medical School. She will continue as director of the Outpatient Pediatric Clinic for the Greenville Hospital System. Jill lives in Easley, SC.

Jon Scieszka, ’76, was appointed in January as the inaugural national ambassador for young people’s literature by the Library of Congress. The position was created to help promote young people’s literature as a means of encouraging lifelong literacy. A former elementary school teacher, Jon is the author of several bestselling children’s books including The Stinky Cheese Man, which won a Caldecott Honor medal, and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. He is also the founder of Guys Read, a nonprofit literacy organization. He lives with his family in Brooklyn, NY.
