IES-Freiburg, Germany

Subjects: A wide range of classes are offered including: German language and literature, business, economics, the humanities, social sciences, and studio and performing arts.

Prerequisites: At least a 3.0 GPA and the student must be in good standing with Albion College. The student must also have either Junior or Senior standing at Albion College. 4 semesters (5 semesters for the spring semester program) of college level German is also required.

Credit: Up to 4.0 Albion College units

Housing: A single or double room in a suite-style living dormitory with either German or other international students. Each suite includes a full bathroom and has access to a shared kitchen.

Costs: Same as Albion College room and board fees. Additional expenses include transportation to the program, books, local travel and personal expenses.

Comments: The IES Freiburg program allows the student to fully integrate themselves into the German University student lifestyle and dramatically improve their German language skills. The program is based out of one of Germany's top universities, Albert-Ludwigs-Universitat. Along with the broad range of subjects that the IES Freiburg program offers, internships at area businesses, schools, theaters, hospitals and government agencies are available. Students will also have the opportunity to travel on fields trips within Germany to sites such as Berlin, Cologne, Bonn, Munich and the Black Forest.
