The British Eighth - 2007
Another great, exciting, tiring, exhausting, fun, "glad it's over" year! As you can see from our group picture, the band has become a stable 70+ member ensemble, although we hope to eventually grow to over 100! We performed for all sorts of events again including Convocation (with Fareed Zakaria), Briton Bash, Festival of the Forks, Albion Aglow, Homecoming Bon Fire, and of course all of the home football games. This year's shows included West Side Story (in honor of it's 50th anniversary on Broadway), Blood, Sweat, and Tears (for Homecoming with Eric Becher, V.P. for Institutional Advancement showing everyone that he is still a band director at heart), Stevie Wonder, and the ever-popular Senior Show!
This year's drum majors were Amy Alcenius ('08) and Lizzy Thornton ('09). Guard Captains were Elizabeth Jewell and Megan Hinz. Our spirit leader was Danica Hernandez ('08). Below are some of the more exciting and/or interesting pictures from the season.
