Quantitative Skills Center
Mathematics Tutoring
Spring 2008
In order to best meet the needs of students, the Quantitative Skills Center offers tutoring sessions on both a drop-in and a scheduled basis.
Drop-In Tutoring
Drop-in tutoring is available without an appointment. Students usually
come to the drop-in sessions when they want help occasionally (on an "as-needed"
basis) but don't need to meet weekly with a tutor. Tutors are available
for drop-in sessions in Mudd 307, located up one level from the circulation desk
in the library. The hours for drop-in sessions this semester are
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1 - 4 p.m.
and Thursday 1 - 3 p.m.
Scheduled Tutoring Sessions
Students wishing for more regular tutoring sessions may send email to
QSCTutors to schedule a tutoring appointment. Tutoring appointments will
normally be scheduled during the evening for an hour-long
time block between 7 and 10
p.m. Students will generally meet with a tutor once or twice a week.
Students may drop-in for help without an appointment during evenings, but may have to wait until a tutor is free to meet.
Students in Math 125, Functions,
are encouraged to attend the study sessions for that course. These take
place in your regular classroom.
Your instructor holds a problem solving session on Wednesday mornings and your
course tutor holds review sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays 8 - 9 p.m.
