Commencement Tickets and Seating

Commencement is on May 11, 2013 and begins at 1 p.m. Please note that the Processional begins at 12:45 p.m.—all guests must be seated by 12:30 p.m.

The ceremony generally lasts about two hours. The ceremony is held on the Campus Quadrangle (weather permitting) and in the Bernard T. Lomas Fieldhouse at the Dow Center in inclement weather. The location is determined at 7:00 a.m. on the morning of Commencement. You may check this website to see whether Commencement will be indoors or outdoors, or you may call Campus Safety at 517/629-1234.

Commencement Tickets

Seating is unlimited and tickets are NOT required if the ceremony is held outdoors on the Campus Quadrangle.

If the ceremony is held indoors (in the Lomas Fieldhouse), Tickets will be required for any family members or friends who will be attending Commencement.

Each student will receive five tickets via their campus mailbox. Any guests who do not have tickets will be seated in auxiliary seating (in the Ungrodt Tennis Center), where the ceremony will be projected on large screens.

Why do we have to have tickets if Commencement is held inside?

The College must abide by the fire code regulations for the number of people allowed in the Fieldhouse. Therefore, tickets are necessary if the ceremony is held indoors.

We do not have replacement tickets for lost tickets.

Handicapped and Special-Needs Seating and Parking

Handicapped-accessible parking and special seating is available.

A Sign Language interpreter will be located near the Commencement platform.
