Annual Taste of Blackness Food Showcase Supports Haiti Relief Funds

Albion College’s Black Student Alliance will host their annual Taste of Blackness food showcase on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m. in Albion College’s Kellogg Center. Tickets are $4 in advance, $5 dollars at the door, and all proceeds will be donated to Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti and the Jeremie District Methodist Church in Haiti.  Taste of Blackness is also the culminating activity of Albion College' Black History month events.

The showcase features traditional African-American cuisine by community members with various types of rice, vegetables, meat dishes, desserts, and so much more. There will also be entertainment by the "Who Dat?" Blues Band. Said BSA president Deondra Jacobs, “This event will definitely be one that you don’t want to miss.”

This event is open to the public. Tickets will be sold in the Kellogg Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb 16-18 and 22-26. For more information or to purchase tickets from off campus, please contact Deondra Jacobs at 517/629-1389 or .
