Winona Miller Anderson, ’47, 4234 Marys Way, Lansing, MI 48917-4201, retired as a missionary for the United Methodist Church, having served in Belize, Trinidad, and Jamaica. She is a driver for Mobile Meals and serves as the church librarian. Winona is also a receptionist for Lansing City Hall four hours per week. She was a member of “Social Securities Scandals,” a senior variety show, for nine years. Winona has traveled throughout the United States, as well as to the Caribbean and the Panama Canal. She and her husband, Frank, enjoy spending time with her family.
Patricia “Patti” Webb Fox, ’47, 5335 Golf View Rd., Bellaire, MI 49615, retired from teaching in Grosse Pointe. She is the publicity director for Antrim County Democrats. Patti was involved with the North American premiere of Michael Moore’s new documentary, Sicko, which was held in Bellaire in June. She earned a master’s degree from Wayne State University.
Elisabeth French, ’47, 2122 Massachusetts Ave., NW Apt. 312, Washington, DC 20008, serves on a textile museum committee. She has traveled to Central Asia, the Pacific islands, and many parts of Europe and South America. She has made contributions to the Albion College art collection from her own holdings.
Norma Spafford Gohle-Miller, ’47, 25 Quarterdeck, New Bern, NC 28562-3804, retired in 1993 as a medical technologist at Children’s Hospital in Detroit. She is a member of West New Bern Presbyterian Church, where she sings in the choir. Norma travels throughout the United States to visit friends and family. Norma and her second husband, Vernon Miller, were married in 2000. She has a stepson.
Mary Ann Jelsch Harding, ’47, 10709 Avila Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33913, retired in 1990 from Utica Community Schools. She was past president of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary sorority for women educators. Mary Ann and her husband, Duane, spend the summers in Florence, WI. They have two children, including John Harding, ’84.
Janice Primrose Linsell, ’47, 622 N. Madison, Traverse City, MI 49684, retired after 30 years of teaching in Detroit. She was also a guest teacher for 20 years in Traverse City. Janice is a member of Central United Methodist Church. She is also a member of the Traverse City Peace Board. Janice traveled by bus, ferry, and rail in Canada this summer, visiting Vancouver, Banff, Lake Louise, and the Canadian Rockies. She and her husband, Frederick, have been married 57 years. They have two sons and four grandsons.
Marilyn Adrianson Simmons, ’47, 1551 Franklin St. #3024, Grand Rapids, MI 49506, retired as a school librarian. She has relocated to a retirement community in Grand Rapids after four years in Sun City, AZ. Marilyn has traveled to the Panama Canal, Costa Rica, Alaska, Hawaii, and Vancouver, B.C.
Dean Smith, ’47, 1614 Covington Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48103, retired as an elementary school teacher, principal, and curriculum director. Dean is president of the Michigan Chapter of the Victorian Society in America. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree from Albion. His wife, Caroline Beslock Smith, ’55, is a former teacher and kitchen designer. She is a member of the Ann Arbor branch of AAUW, where she served as president. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. They have traveled throughout the United States and enjoy spending time with their family.
Marilyn Harger Steele, ’47, 8632 54th Ave. W, Bradenton, FL 34210, is retired. She is the president of AAUW of Manatee County. She is a member of the Manatee Symphony Association and the Bradenton/Sarasota alumnae club of her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta. Marilyn earned a master’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. She has traveled to Bermuda, the Azores, Italy, France, and Spain. She and her husband, Tom Steele, ’49, enjoy spending time with their family, including their daughter, Mary Frances Steele, ’79.
