2000 Class Notes

Monique Burey-Ballard, ’00, is completing her master’s degree in training and development at Roosevelt University in Chicago. She presented at Cleveland State University’s “II Crossing Over” Symposium in October. Monique’s presentation was “Leadership Development for Arts Entrepreneurs: Motivation for the Ownership of YOU.” She offered research and program proposals for training and career development for future professional recording artists. Ren Hartung, ’00, is a new science faculty member at Glen Oaks Community College. He performed research and studied eye diseases on his way to a doctoral degree in biomedical science at the University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine. Ren previously taught five years at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC, as well as two semesters as an adjunct faculty member at Kellogg Community College. He was a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy, and was an instructor trainer for emergency medicine.

Matthew Randazzo, ’00, is the chief development officer with IDEA Public Schools, an award-winning Charter School Management Organization in McAllen, TX. Cory Scherer, ’00, has accepted a tenure-track position in the Psychology Department at Penn State-Schuylkill. He and his wife, Jen Campbell Scherer, ’00, have a daughter.
