Frank Burdine, ’68, has accepted a new position as vice president of human resources with American Capital Strategies Ltd. in Bethesda, MD. American Capital is a publicly traded investment fund, primarily investing in private, middle market companies. Frank and his wife, Barbara Gale Burdine, ’70, have moved to Olney, MD.
Richard “Rick” Smith, ’68, stepped down in January 2008 as editor-in-chief and chief executive of Newsweek magazine. He will retain the title of chairman of the magazine, a position he has held since 1998. Rick had served as editor-in-chief since 1984, and as chief executive since 1991.
