2003 Class Notes

Alex Case, ’03, 818 N. Quincy St., Apt. 409, Arlington, VA 22203, is a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He serves as tax division, civil section electronic discovery coordinator. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. Alex earned his J.D. from the University of Richmond in 2006. He served as Allen Chair editor of the University of Richmond Law Review in 2005-06. He was also named to the McNeill Law Society for the top ten percent of his class and was part of the Moot Court Board at the University of Richmond. Alex performed on the drums with the University of Richmond Pep Band for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. He also played in the band for the University of Richmond’s national quarterfinal (NCAA 1-AA) football game against the Furman Paladins, which was televised on ESPNU. He and his wife, Tristen, have traveled throughout the United States. They were married in 2006.

Molly Oesterle D’Avria, ’03, 8940 Oransay Way, Charlotte, NC 28278, is a youth program director for Robert Lee Stowe, Jr. Family YMCA in Belmont, NC, where she has worked since 2006. Molly and her husband, Michael, were married in 2006.

Adam Dontz, ’03, 11910 Holly Court, Plainfield, IL 60585, is the vice president for acquisition and government relations for Gladstone Builders & Developers in greater Chicago.

Justin Grannell, ’03, 10069 Jefferson Way, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, is a third-year medical student at Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. He and his wife, Alicia, were married in 2006.

Dana Lobelle, ’03, works for the South Carolina Supreme Court in the Office of the Staff Attorney. Dana graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2008. She has traveled to Romania. Dana has a son.

Amy DeRouin Simmons, ’03, 3845 Audrey Rae Lane, Howell, MI 48843, is an employment law attorney with Trainar & Associates. She became a licensed attorney in 2007. Amy also practices in federal district court. She has traveled to Hawaii and the Bahamas. She and her husband, Tim, were married in 2006.

Ashley Smith, ’03, 3360 Chelsea Dr., Cleveland Heights, OH 44118, is a manager for the Cleveland Orchestra’s Youth Orchestra. She previously worked with Interlochen Arts Academy and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Ashley has traveled to Singapore and the Czech Republic. She has also taken a Caribbean cruise. She traveled to Australia and Alaska with Andrea Burger Bonner, ’01.

Kimberly Cragnolin Solomon, ’03, 150 W. Superior St. #1103, Chicago, IL 60654, is a first- and second-grade teacher for Chicago Virtual Charter School. She and her husband, Justin, were married in 2008.

Emily Dobbins Verbeke, ’03, 311 Ash St., Albion, MI 49224, is a school psychologist. She earned her education specialist degree from the University of Denver in child, family, and school psychology. She and her husband, Joseph Verbeke, ’01, started and ran a non-profit youth orchestra while living in Colorado. They are currently living in Michigan while her husband is completing his master’s degree in music education at the University of Michigan.
