2001 Class Notes

Mary Beth Shearer Burton, ’01, received her doctorate in audiology and has started an audiology practice, MCHA Hearing Solutions, as part of Midwest Community Health Associates Medical Center in Bryan, OH, where she lives.

James Gignac, ’01, is the midwest senior regional representative for the Sierra Club’s National Coal Campaign. He previously was an associate with Mayer Brown LLP. Tara Movitz, ’01, graduated with a doctor of physical therapy degree with distinction from Northern Arizona University in May 2008. She plans to specialize in neurological physical therapy. She and her husband, Michael Cutting, live in Phoenix, AZ.

Karen Schinkel Raduazo, ’01, earned her medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL, in May 2008. She was the recipient of the Dean’s Award, recognizing the senior with the highest GPA for four full years of medical school. Karen also received the Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Citation and the Ralph Denny Memorial Award. She will do a preliminary year in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC, and will enter a neurology residency at Duke in July 2009. She is married to Phillip Raduazo, ’99.
