1977 Class Notes

Phillip Damaska, ’77, is the new executive vice president and chief financial officer for Exide Technologies, a global leader in stored electrical-energy solutions. He has also worked as senior vice president of finance and corporate controller for Exide. He previously held a variety of positions at Freudenberg-NOK, the Americas, a joint venture partnership between Freudenberg in Germany and NOK Corp. in Japan. Phillip earned an M.B.A. from the University of Detroit and is a certified public accountant in the state of Michigan. He lives in Alpharetta, GA.

Judy Neff DeYoung, ’77, is a kindergarten teacher and has taught for 17 years. She and her husband, Chris, have been married for 27 years. They live in Ramona, CA, and have two children.

Katharine Howard Layton, ’77, is a senior business process improvement strategist for Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, IA. Kathy has been with Principal for eight years. She and her husband, Bob, traveled to Japan in March. They live in Urbandale, IA.
