Throughout the school year the Ford Institute hosts special events and celebrations for various occassions. We see these celebrations as opportunities to exhibit good citizenship and provide our students with a chance to do the same.
Each September 17th, the Ford Institute in conjunction with the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.), take a moment to celebrate Constitution Day, in front of Robinson Hall on Albion College's campus. Since 1955 the D.A.R. honors the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787 by ceremoniously ringing small bells.
On the night of November 4, 2008 the Ford Institute and Albion's Office of Campus Programming and Organizations (CPO) hosted a returns party for the national and state elections. The Kellogg Center 'Stack' was brightly decorated with red, white, and blue banners and bunting. There were also 6 flat screen HD televisions airing a blend of stations; ABC, NBC, MSNBC, FOX News, CNN, and of course Comedy Central. The students helped themselves to locally processed apple cider and donuts, and sugar cookies from Louie's Bakery in Marshall.
