Biography: 

Larry is the State Director of Michigan, Illinois and Missouri for GoRail, a national non-profit that advocates for increased use of freight railroad transportation.  He is also entering his 10th year of service to the nation as a Civil Affairs Team Leader with the US Army Reserve.  A combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom Staff Sergeant (SSG) Lloyd served with the 101st Airborne Division as an infantry squad leader on over 250 combat missions.  His devotion to tackling the toughest challenges of his generation have lead him to spend time in some of the world’s most troubled areas including the DMZ in Korea and Cyprus as well as in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Larry has a deep passion for non-profit work in which he has worked for the American Red Cross and been a board member of the Michigan Theatre and Chaired the Legislative Committee for the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.

Fully devoted to the liberal arts education and his alma mater, Albion College, Larry has been a member of the Ford Visiting Committee, and Veterans Advisory Council, the Dr. Kim Tunnicliff Memorial Fund and is co-chairing his 10-year reunion Committee in 2012.  Three times he has traveled to Wroclaw, Poland with Albion College students to help restore a Jewish Cemetery.  His sister is currently a sophomore at Albion and his wife has worked for the Art Department.

A Graduate of Albion College with two B.A.’s in Political Science and Holocaust studies, he is currently a candidate for a Master’s in Public Administration from Western Michigan University.  He lives in Jackson, MI with his wife Kimberly and son Lincoln (and two dogs).
