About Us
Alpha Chi Omega is more than just a sorority; it is a home away
from home. It is a place where over 60 women share genuine bonds yet are
able to grow as individuals. Our sisters are mentors, leaders, and friends.
At Alpha Chi we pride ourselves in being classy and involved
members of our college community. We love spending time together at
activities such as philanthropic events, formals, theme parties, and
sisterhood activities.
Alpha Chi Omega chooses its members by considering the
following five criteria:
-
Academic
Interest:
Alpha Chi Omega believes in the importance of intellectual development and
encourages sound scholarship and intellectual achievement. The grade
requirement to join our house is a 2.8, which is higher than the 2.5 that
Albion College requires to go through sorority recruitment.
-
Character:
Alpha Chi
Omega expects members to accept and reflect moral integrity and dignity,
social awareness, and fraternity loyalty.
-
Financial
Responsibility:
Alpha Chi
Omega expects members to be responsible for the prompt payment of all dues
and fees and other financial commitments.
-
Leadership Ability:
Alpha Chi
Omega believes that character, personality, and leadership are developed
through participation in campus activities and encourages each collegian to
be interested in her community.
-
Personal
Development:
Alpha Chi
Omega believes in the development of members in their cultural appreciation,
social awareness, and personal presentation.
Alpha Chis make time to participate in community service
projects and to raise money for our national philanthropy supporting victims
of domestic violence. We are very proud of our annual Mr. Briton pageant
which raises awareness and funds for the domestic violence causes. Our
contribution to
S.A.F.E. Place in Battle Creek has been so
consistent and helpful that we have been granted an honorary seat on their
executive board.
Alpha Chis are involved in many different activities, whether it
be participating in academics, athletics, the community, or campus
organizations. Being a sister in Alpha Chi Omega is an incredibly rewarding
experience. Our individuality and respect for one another make our years at
Albion College truly unforgettable. |
