Admission Requirements for First-Year Applicants

When reviewing your application for admission, Albion considers the following general issues:

  • High School GPA (The average GPA for our 2007 class was 3.56.)
  • High school courses including AP and Honors level, the number of courses taken in each academic area, and grades received over the course your high school career
  • Interest in Albion (Come spend the day with us and have a tour of campus, meet with faculty, and meet with your Admission Counselor.)
  • SAT Scores - the average for 2007 was 1200.  SAT or ACT needs to be taken (not necessarily both.)
  • ACT Scores - the average for 2007 was 25.
  • Extra-curricular activities (What do you do outside of the classroom: athletics, drama, music, community service, clubs and organizations, etc.)
  • Personal Essay (What you have to say about yourself, what you've accomplished and what your goals are.)
  • Letter of Recommendation (What the people that know you best have to say about you.)
