Colin Carr, ’09
“Don’t take the safe route. Whether it’s on a campus visit, at an interview, or in a writing sample, use that opportunity to stand out to the admission committee.”
In Colin’s words:
On the academic culture:
“I love the dialogue that exists on Albion’s campus. In classrooms, students are encouraged to challenge ideas. And in dorm rooms and fraternity houses, students continue these conversations through all hours of the night.”
On career preparation:
“At Albion, you’ll not only receive an education that prepares you for both today’s and tomorrow’s job markets, but you’ll be joining a family of 25,000 alumni that will help you in your career.”
“In Albion’s fraternity Sigma Chi, if a member pins his girlfriend, his brothers serenade her in front of Dickie Hall. (That’s after his brothers toss him into the Kalamazoo River for giving away his badge.)”
At the top of his bucket list: Time-traveling to the 1994 Stagg Bowl, where Albion won the NCAA Division III National Championship.
Never Misses: The chance for a round of disc golf at Victory Park.
His true passion: Golf. And now that it’s an Olympic sport, you may catch him winning the gold in 2016.
His favorite pair of shoes: His water skis.
