Transfer Profile: Ryan Hall

What made you pick Albion College?
I picked Albion because of many things. Albion is one of the closer colleges to my hometown, which makes getting home for breaks and such very easy. I love the small class sizes and how the professors are very involved and engaging in all of their student's work.
I was also drawn to the programs available here, such as Honors, the Ford Institute, and CSE. The combination of these three programs is right up my alley with my major and all. Above all else, it is really the academics that made me pick Albion. I hope to do great things with my education and I know Albion can do so much for me, and I can also give back so much to Albion!
So far, how is Albion different from your previous school?
Albion is so much different than any school I have attended. It is smaller, strangely, but that is one of the things I love about it. Albion is a wonderful change of pace.
What are you studying? What are you involved in?
I am studying political science and environmental policy and sustainability. It goes great with the programs I am in. I am in the Honors Program, Ford Institute and the Center for Sustainability and the Environment.
What are you plans after graduating from Albion?
After graduation, I hope to attend grad school overseas somewhere, preferably in Europe.
What's been the most pleasantly surprising thing you've seen at Albion?
The most pleasantly surprising thing I have experienced at Albion is the hospitality and overall friendliness of most everyone I have met. Everyone is so inviting and can be engaging in conversation. It's very refreshing to be able to get along with so many people and establish good relationships.
