International Application Procedures

So you've thought about it, and now all that's left to do is apply. You’ll find all the necessary information right here.
Albion College requires the following for all international students.
A completed application
There are two applications to choose from; there is no preference or effect on the decision. We suggest you read the instructions carefully and gather needed information before beginning the form.
- Academic Records:
- Academic Records must be official and sent directly by a school counselor, university academic records office, or EducationUSA Advisor. Certified translations and original language documents are required if the originals are not in English.
- What Academic Records should I send?
- Official Results of one of the following exams: SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS.
Scores must arrive by one of the following methods:
- Sent by the testing agency directly to us:
- SAT and TOEFL - institutional code 1007
- ACT - institutional code 1956
- IELTS must be sent by paper to our mailing address below
- Official score reports may be certified and sent by a school counselor, university official, or EducationUSA officer.
Due to receipt of fraudulent scores, we will no longer accept scores sent by the student, their family, or a non-educational officer.
- Demonstration of English Proficiency
- Your test score above may also be a demonstration of your English proficiency. English proficiency is required of all students, with few exceptions. See the Albion College English Proficiency policy for more information.
- Short essay or personal statement (included in the application or sent separately).
- At least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, school official, coach or community service coordinator.
Recommendations should come directly from the recommender and may be scanned, faxed or emailed to the Office of Admission or uploaded through the Common Application.
- Financial Planning Worksheet – this online form will be in your Albion Student Portal once you apply. It is a way for you and your family to plan how you will contribute to your education, and for Albion to learn about your situation.
You are required to send the following if the situation applies to you:
- There are more than 4 months between your high school graduation and your first term at Albion:
- An explanation of your activities over this time is required. This can be in the Interruption of Studies section of the Common App, through your Albion Student Portal, or in a short message to .
- You have attended any post-secondary institution since completing high school (secondary school):
- We must have official transcripts, mark sheets, and exam results showing results for all courses attempted and completed. Students who attended post-secondary studies in India must send complete university mark sheets, not college mark sheets or consolidated mark sheets. Albion will accept certified or attested copies of post-secondary records.
- If you decide to enroll, you will only receive credit for previous work outside of the US if we receive an official evaluation report directly from a NACES-approved service.
Priority Dates for Scholarship Consideration:
- October 1 for Spring term (January)
- March 1 for Fall term (August)
- Students who apply Early Action and submit complete applications by December 1 will receive a decision in 2-4 weeks.
