A time like no other.
The college search—it's exciting, perhaps daunting, certainly significant. No two searches are alike, and whether it's because of one of our 31 majors, The Albion Advantage, our students' strong connection with faculty, our beautiful campus, an athletic program, or all of the above, we're pleased you're considering Albion.
You've come this far. If you think you want to go further, this page offers information and resources that factor into the overall admission process and will help you in making your decision (bookmarking this page may be helpful).
Applying to Albion
It all starts with the application. You may apply for admission to Albion College through either the College's online application or the Common Application. Paper applications are also available. If you're outside the U.S., please see the international student application.
Admission Requirements
When reviewing your application, Albion considers the following:
- High School GPA – The average GPA for our 2011 incoming class was 3.5.
- High School Courses – This includes AP and Honors level, the number of courses taken in each academic area, and grades received over the course of your high school career.
- Interest in Albion – Why is Albion right for you? Tour the campus, connect with your admission counselor, meet our students and faculty, and find out for yourself.
- SAT Scores* – The 2011 average was 1180 (excluding the writing score).
- ACT Scores* – The 2011 average composite score was 25 (excluding the writing score).
- Extracurricular Activities – Athletics, music, theatre, community service, clubs and organizations—anything you do outside the classroom.
- Letter of Recommendation – What the people who know you best have to say about you.
*The SAT or ACT should be taken, but not necessarily both.
Visiting Campus
A virtual tour may be the next best thing to being here, but indeed the best way to truly experience Albion is through a campus visit. You can design your own tour, centered around the programs or facilities you're interested in most (you can even attend a class), and there are group and overnight visit programs as well. You'll also have the opportunity to speak with an admission counselor. Call it an interview or an informal chat, it's a great way to talk about yourself, your goals, and anything else on your mind.
