Employee of the Month

Dr. Troy VanAken is pleased to announce the implementation of the Employee of the Month (EOM) Program to honor full and part-time employees under the division of Finance & Management and Information Technology who deserve special recognition for the outstanding jobs that they do.

The purpose of the Employee of the Month Program is to recognize employees in the division who have served Albion College in an exceptional manner, performing outstanding service through their work and exhibiting a positive and supportive attitude. Each month the Employee of the Month Award will be awarded to three eligible nominees:

• one hourly full or part-time employee from Dining and Hospitality

• one hourly full or part-time employee from Facilities Operations

• one salaried or hourly full or part-time employee from administration/clerical

Who can be nominated? Any full or part-time hourly and salaried staff member under the division of Finance & Management and Information Technology.

Who can nominate an employee? Any Albion College employee. More than one employee can sign the nomination form and/or add comments to the form.

When nominating a fellow employee for the Employee of the Month, consideration should be given to the following:

• Pride in his/her job

• Consistently high job performance

• Actions above and beyond the call of duty

• Adherence to safety procedures

• Cooperative attitude

• Teamwork - Concern for and helpfulness to other employees and/or students

• Technical Achievement

• Creativity and Innovation

• Performance Excellence

• Outstanding  attendance record

• Leadership

• Commitment

• Flexibility

• Educational Achievement

• Skills Improvements

• Heroism or Bravery

Qualities for which individuals will be selected are: outstanding service, superior performance, exceptional efficiency, integrity and dedication to Albion College and fellow staff members.

Nominations for the Employee of Month program should be submitted to the division director of the person you are nominating or the Business Office no later than the 25^th of each month. Please continue to recognize your fellow peers, and coworkers by submitting your nomination forms. The nomination form should include a narrative of why the nominee merits being named Employee of the Month based on the above criteria that the nominator feels is relevant. Nomination forms (.pdf) are available online, or a paper copy may be obtained at the reception desk at Dining Services and Facilities Operation.

The Employee of the Month Award Consists of:

·         Certificate signed by Troy VanAken, Executive Vice President

·         Pictures and statements recognizing their accomplishments will appear on the Albion College Employee of the Month web pages and will be posted in Dining and Facilities

·         The winner’s choice of a gift certificate at Mary Sykes, Eat Shop or the Book Store
