Memorial Service Celebrated the Life of John W. “Jack” Fuchs Parker
A memorial service on February 26, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, Wesley Chapel, celebrated the life of Emeritus Professor John Parker, who passed away February 10, 2011 at the age of 90. In 1966 Jack was the first staff member to join Larry Taylor in developing a new department of geology at Albion College. Jack's subsequent 20 years at Albion helped established a strong teaching and research foundation for the now thriving Department of Geological Sciences.
Six junior and senior Geology and Earth Science majors had abstracts accepted for the Northeastern/North-Central Section Meeting of the Geological Society of America. The meeting will be held in Pittsburgh, March 20-22, 2011.
