Why I Chose Gerstacker: To learn as much as possible about the business world, to have the opportunity to do different internships, and to build relationships with some really awesome people.
Most Memorable Gerstacker Moment: Traveling to France and creating an international business plan that incorporated the cultures of both the U.S. and France. We had an amazing time, and learned a lot about intercultural differences.
Advice for Prospective Students: Live ever day to the fullest! Since you never what will happen tomorrow, take advantage of every great opportunity that comes your way.

Why I Chose Gerstacker: I had a good feeling that the small, close and personable environment would be very vital to my success as a business student. I knew I wanted to do something with accounting and Gerstacker offered so many opportunities to network and really get to know some of the best firms around! With the requirement to do 2 internships, I knew I would be graduating with not only a great education, but also awesome experience in the business world.
My Favorite Part of My First Year: I would definitely have to say that my favorite part about being at college is the independence. It was a good feeling to be able to set my own schedule, and it was an even better feeling when I actually began to grasp the idea of time management and I started to follow it!
Advice to Prospective Students: My advice would be to make sure that you have fun your first year and make some good friends, but still stay focused and work hard, because when things don't work out, you will need your friends there to cheer you up. Just make sure that you are doing what makes you happy, and not something that you think you will regret the next day or the day after that.

Why I Chose Gerstacker: I chose Gerstacker because of the vast opportunities that arise from it. Internships, networking, and potential careers are only a fraction of what Gerstacker is all about and why I chose it.
Favorite Part of First Year: I would have to say cosmic bowling, lol. But really, my econ 101 H class with Jon Lanning was tough, but definitely rewarding. Jon's class made me smile, laugh, and cry (when grades came out... just kidding!). I enjoyed having him so much that I eventually made him my Faculty Advisor. Oh one more thing, I can't forget my trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina for my First Year Seminar (part of FYE)!!!
Advice to Prospective Students: Make sure you come for a visit, and if at all possible an overnight visit. Make sure to be open-minded when you come to campus. My first time here on campus was during my sophomore year in High School, and I was not a fan by any means. After taking another visit when I was a bit older, I learned about opportunities on campus, student life, and the Gerstacker Institute. My mind had changed ten-fold. One more piece of advice would be...even though it's a small school, you do not/will not know EVERYONE on campus. That was my worry when I arrived, but found that is not an issue.
