The Albion College Symphony Orchestra (ACSO) is open by audition to all students regardless of major and members of the surrounding communities; auditions take place on the first two days of each semester. There are 55 players at present, including 30 string players together with the standard complement of woodwinds, brass, and percussion. The ensemble performs three regular symphony orchestra programs each season, together with a College concert and a Concerto Concert for winners of the annual Concerto Competition. Each year there is also an opportunity to perform operatic or music-theatre repertoire.
