In a statewide competition, Megan Britton, '17, was one of just two recipients of a study-abroad scholarship from the French-American Chamber of Commerce, Michigan (FACCM). The award supports Britton's current semester studying at the Université Stendhal-Grenoble.
"When I learned I received the award, I was excited and very grateful," said Britton. "This award allows me to expand my experiences abroad."
According to the FACCM press release, Britton impressed the selection committee with her professionalism, "linguistic objectives to participate in this study abroad program, solid academic achievement, and good progress in French."
"We see Megan as an emerging leader who is coming into her own," said Cedric Ballarin, FACCM president. "We believe that this experience will provide valuable insight to the further business courses she will be taking at Albion and her future professional life."
The FACCM Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to college and university students in Michigan pursuing business or business-related courses and French and who plan to use both in their career plans. Aimed at students with financial need, the program demonstrates FACCM's commitment to improving French-American trade as well as helping Michigan students further their French studies and business experience.
