December 5, 2009 - Five Students Participate In Putnam Mathematical Competition

On Saturday, December 5, five Albion mathematics students challenged themselves against North America's most prestigious math test in the 70th annual William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition.

Participating for Albion were (left to right): Mingjia Yang, Eric Richardson, Chen Chen, Kathryn Wagner, and Rachel Kamischke. The Putnam competition is held annually on the first Saturday of December and attracts about 3500 top undergraduate mathematics students from American and Canadian colleges. Results of the competition are expected at the end of March 2010. Mark Bollman supervised this year's Albion Putnam team.
