What you'll study.
You'll merge a scientific foundation with hands-on skill. In exercise science, you'll focus on how the human body reacts and adapts to exercise, particularly when it comes to promoting health. In athletic training, you'll learn about the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions. Majors and minors.
What you'll do.
Find your niche in the Human Movement Lab and with our athletic training equipment. You'll also work in the field assisting athletic trainers and exercise scientists who partner with physicians to optimize the activity and healthy participation of patients and clients. Facilities.
Where you'll go.
A physician. Physical therapist. Personal trainer. Cardiac rehabilitator. The list goes on. As a graduate, you'll qualify to sit for the Board of Certification examination and the American College of Sports Medicine certification examinations. Most grads go on to graduate school or jobs in exercise science and athletic training, but about a third enter allied health professions or medical school. Potential career paths.
