Subjects: Contemporary Irish Society and The History of Ireland or Ethics is Health Care; various liberal arts course offerings. Internships are offered in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: business and economics, advertising and public relations, the arts, film and television, health and human services, hospitality administration, politics, journalism, and international organizations.
Prerequisites: 3.0 GPA; junior-level standing; demonstrated maturity.
Length: Fall Semester, Spring Semester or Summer Term
Credit: 4 Albion units (16 semester hours credit); 3 academic units + 1 unit internship (1 Albion unit = 4 semester hours).
Faculty: Local Irish faculty.
Housing: Student housing in the BU orDublin Apartments.
Costs not covered by Albion: Transportation to/from Ireland; textbooks ; food; miscellaneous personal and vacation expenses.
Comments: The semester is in two parts. The first seven weeks consist of orientation, tutorials, courses, and field trips. Students complete three courses before beginning their internships. During the second seven, students attend their internships. Internships are in a variety of areas on this program, and should be considered unpaid (although on occasion a stipend may be involved). there is also a weekly seminar related to the internship.
