I am pleased to inform you that University College Cork has been selected as Ireland’s University of the Year by The Sunday Times. Subjects: Full curriculum university. UCC is renowned for Irish Studies, history, music, literature, marine science, folklore, Celtic studies, food science and technology, engineering, and medicine.

Prerequisites: 3.0 GPA, junior-level standing, demonstrated maturity.

Length: Fall or Spring semesters, Academic year, limited summer. Students attending UCC for the fall semester spend September taking an Early Start Semester in one of the following areas: archaeology, history and modern Ireland, literatures in Ireland, Irish ecosystems. They then join the regular Autumn term that begins in October.

Credit: Students may earn up to four Albion units per semester, depending on the coursework selected. A normal semester load at UCC is six classes (30 UCC credits). A full load of 30 UCC credits = 4 Albion units.

Housing: Apartment style complexes; almost all rooms are single with kitchen & bath facilities shared with other occupants of apartment.

Costs not covered by Albion:: Travel to and from Cork; vacation travel; miscellaneous personal expenses, meals.
