Prerequisites: 3.0 GPA, 1 college-level Japanese language course recommended, junior-level standing
Length: Fall, Spring Semester and Academic Year available.
Credit: 16 semester hours.
Housing: Japanese homestays or private dormitories with Japanese students and young professionals.
Cost: Albion College tuition and fees cover program tuition and fees, orientation, room, and most meals.
Costs not covered by Albion: Round trip airfare to Tokyo. The program fee does not include personal expenses, additional meals, books and supplies, local transportation.
Comments: Sophia University, a private Jesuit institution, is one of the preeminent universities in Japan with over 10,000 students from around the world. CIEE students take courses through the Faculty of Liberal Arts. Approximately two-thirds of the students in this faculty are Japanese, and more than 40 nationalities are represented on campus. Sophia's Yotsuya campus includes a library, computer labs, faculty and administrative offices, classrooms, and sports grounds. CIEE has an office on campus that provides support to CIEE students studying at Sophia University.
