Tokyo, Japan - Sophia University - Summer Session in Asian Studies

Subjects: Classes are offered in Economics, History, Japanese language courses, Art, and Political Science, Art History, Business, Anthropology, Religion and Theology

Prerequisites: 3.0 GPA, 1 college-level Japanese language course, junior-level standing

Length: Summer Session.

Credit: 16 semester hours, six upper-level undergraduate credits can be earned (three credits per course).

Housing: Japanese homestays or private dormitories with Japanese students and young professionals

Cost: Albion College tuition and fees cover program tuition and fees, orientation, room, and most meals.

Costs not covered by Albion: Round trip airfare to Tokyo. The program fee does not include personal expenses, additional meals, books and supplies, local transportation.

Comments: Sophia University is well-known for its international environment. The Faculty of Liberal Arts is unique as it allows international and Japanese students to study together in seminar classes taught in English. Volunteer opportunities can be arranged. A special orientation, homestays with Japanese families, guided field trips, and cultural activities designed to introduce different facets of Japanese culture.
