Troy joined Albion College as Director of Career Development in February 2013. He comes to Albion from Idaho after working at the Career Center at Idaho State University for fourteen years. Troy received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and Master of Counseling degree from Idaho State University, and continues to complete coursework toward a doctorate in higher education. He began his higher education employment in student activities and then worked in housing for two years. After that, he worked at the Idaho State University Career Center where he moved through the ranks in career development.
Troy has a deep appreciation for liberal arts education and looks forward to helping Albion students connect their education to their future career success. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, recreating in the outdoors, and working with his hands.
Dawn Hernandez

Dawn is an Albion College alumna and Albion community resident. After graduation, Dawn pursued a career in social work in the Ann Arbor area. Several years later, she returned to the Albion area and began working at the Albion District Library. Working in the library opened up a new world where helping others and research came together. With the encouragement of her supervisor, Dawn decided to go back to college. Upon completing her master’s degree in Library and Information Science at Wayne State University, Dawn worked in public libraries for over a decade.
Dawn brings her skills as a social worker and librarian to the Office of Career Development to help benefit the students at Albion College. She looks forward to assisting current and former Albion students reach their career goals as they prepare for life beyond college. Her interests include reading, movies, and live plays, musicals, and ballet performances.
Danielle Yonkin

Danielle graduated with her Master of Arts in the College Counseling program at Eastern Michigan University. She completed her internship at Albion College Counseling Services and Concordia University Counseling Center. Danielle has had most of her training and experience working with the student population regarding depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and career issues.
Danielle received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Eastern University in Pennsylvania. During that time she interned at Friends Hospital in their Psychiatric Unit and learned about psychological disorders and how they are treated.
Danielle has her Limited License as a Professional Counselor (LLPC) in the state of Michigan. She is also credentialed as a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC). She holds professional memberships within American Counseling Association and the American College Counseling Association.
Danielle is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Office of Career Development.
Alicia Rigoni

Alicia returns to work for Career Development again this year. Alicia is a senior pursuing a major in Mass Communication and an Individually Designed Major in Gender Communication. Alicia is very involved on campus as a member of Lambda Pi Eta, Alpha Lambda Delta, Gamma Alpha Sigma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Mortar Board, Union Board, Omnicron Delta and various other campus organizations. She is an Albion College Mentor as well as a tour guide. Alicia has had a variety of internships in communication related positions. Her most recent one was working at Walt Disney World in Orlando this summer where she really put her communication skills to the test! Alicia is a certified ski instructor and teaches at Indianhead Mountain in the Upper Peninsula during winter breaks.

Katie is a junior pursuing a major in Psychology and a minor in Communications with a concentration in Human Services. Katie is very involved on campus as a member of Order of Omega, Gamma Alpha Sigma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Up 'til Dawn St. Jude, Best Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, Student Volunteer Bureau, and various other campus organizations. Along with working in Career Development, Katie is also on the tour guide management team and is an intramural sport supervisor. Katie has had a variety of internships in children-psychology positions. Her most recent one was working at a children's camp in Northport, Mich., where she was trained by a psychologist to become high ropes course certified.

Ashley is a senior pursuing a major in Communication and a minor in Biology. Along with working in Career Development, Ashley is also a tour guide on campus and is an involved member of Lambda Pi Eta, Alpha Lambda Delta, Gamma Sigma Alpha, Kappa Alpha Theta, Mortar Board, Union Board, Bella Voce, the Albion College Choir, and various other campus organizations. Ashley has had a variety of internships in public health-related positions. Her most recent one was working at the Marquette County Health Department in Marquette, Mich., where she worked on developing a community health assessment plan. In her free time, Ashley enjoys kayaking and spending time outdoors.
