Bieber, Malecke Balance Soccer, Monetary Policy
Albion College students are noted for their ability to juggle their academic and extracurricular pursuits, though the balancing act performed by Andy Bieber and Evan Malecke this fall may stand alone.
Both concentrating in the Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management, they went to class each day until about 4 p.m., when they would go to practice or matches as midfielders for Albion’s men’s soccer team. After soccer, the juniors would have just enough time to grab dinner and clean up before spending hours sifting through papers and debating economic policy with members of Albion’s Fed Challenge team as it prepared for its Nov. 16 regional competition in Chicago.
Osbeck Reflects on Internship with NHL Team
Hannah Osbeck, '11, has always had a passion for sports. As a three-year member of the Albion College volleyball team, the ability to incorporate sports into a possible career is something Osbeck always hoped would happen. Last spring, the member of the Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management became a part of an online sports job recruting website, Teamwork, where she landed a marketing internship with the National Hockey League's Nashville Predators.

Archer, '13, Set to Study Business in London
It took a special opportunity to pull Alex Archer, ’13, off the golf course for a year. Archer, a student in Albion College’s Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management, will leave his clubs behind in September when he begins taking four classes at the London School of Economics and Political Science for the entire academic year.
