Students who have lost a loved one (or are going to) often find comfort through their faith. The College Chaplain offers spiritual care in times of grief, offering confidential space, bereavement resources, and prayer. At times, the College Chaplain collaborates with Counseling Services to co-facilitate a bereavement support group.
The College Chaplain is available to meet with couples about their relationship, and with couples who are preparing for marriage. It is strongly advised that couples meet with a clergy and/or counseling, to prepare for a life together. The Office of the Chaplain offers pre-marital curriculum, available for free for members of the Albion College community.
The College Chaplain facilitates a co-curricular group for students considering ministry. The group meets occasionally throughout the academic year, with discussion topics based on the individual needs of participants. The group is partnered with academic departments, as well as with the Department of Career Services. Contact the Office of the Chaplain for more information.
The Office of the Chaplain maintains a current listing of ministry opportunities, gathered from a variety of sources. Students seeking an opportunity (short-term or long-term) are encouraged to inquire. This listing is maintained in conjunction with the Department of Career Services.
