Life
Albion College offers a wide variety of religious and spiritual opportunities for students from many backgrounds. Christian groups include the Upper Room, Wesley Fellowship and Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. Fellowship of Christian Athletes also has an active chapter as well as Campus Crusade for Christ. Worship experiences include a student-led chapel service, and most Albion churches extend ministries to students of their denominations. The ecumenical campus ministry program includes a Jewish rabbi who serves on a part-time basis. There is a Jewish Student Union. In addition to Christian programming, there are celebrations of major Jewish holidays, as well as Asian holidays and Kwanzaa. The Chaplain’s Office sponsors programs, supports campus groups, helps connect students to local houses of worship and counsels students on a variety of spiritual and personal matters. In addition, the Department of Religious Studies and the Chaplain's Office jointly sponsor lectures and seminars on timely events and developments in religion and culture. As an institution founded by and related to the United Methodist Church, Albion College encourages spiritual growth and development. The Chaplain’s Office reflects this commitment as it strives to create a spiritual environment that is open, affirming and caring for the entire College community.
