Poetry Fest Returns to Albion College Library Posted Monday, March 21, 2005 ALBION, Mich. — Local poetry lovers are invited to celebrate National Poetry Month by participating in the Albion College Library’s sixth annual Poetry Fest, to be held Wednesday, April 6, at 3 p.m. in the Wendell B. Will Room of Albion College’s Stockwell Library. Audience members are welcome to read a favorite poem or their own poetry. The event features very special refreshments, a prize drawing with a poetic twist, and a humorous reading by a local “celebrity couple” for the grand finale. “In the past, Poetry Fest has had wonderful participation—which includes appreciative listening—by faculty, staff, students, and community people,” says library staff member Marion Meilaender, organizer of the event. This year several winners of the Spanish Department’s Hispanic Poetry Competition will be among the participating students. Poetry Fest is free and the public is encouraged to attend and participate.
