Guitarist Michael Gulezian
Performs Albion Concert Monday, September 13, 2004 ALBION, Mich. – “Experimental” guitarist Michael Gulezian brings his unique fusion of musical genres and guitar techniques to Albion College, for a concert Saturday, Sept. 18, at 8 p.m. in the College’s Kellogg Center. Gulezian will also visit Albion Public Schools' "Brighter Futures" program on Thursday, Oct. 23. Gulezian's performances help kick off Albion's Red Ribbon week which promotes drug prevention and awareness. These concerts are open to Albion-area residents, at 4 p.m. at Harrington School, and at 5 p.m. at Washington Gardner Auditorium. Armenian-American Gulezian has recorded four albums, including 2002’s “Unspoken Intentions.” He is generally classified as an “acoustic, folk-rock” artist, but his music includes elements of Indian/Middle Eastern music as well as classical guitar music and techniques. Albion College student Joe Valley says of Gulezian’s performance, “[you see] one guy play guitar and then hear fifty guitars … it’s all about the sound.” This concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Valley at 517-629-1515 or jdv11@albion.edu. .
