Albion ATO Wins Top
National Honor ALBION, Mich. – Albion College’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity earned top recognition from the national Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the ATO foundation at this year’s ATO national convention held in late July. Albion College senior Sam Hogg, ’05, was chosen from over 100 applicants for ATO’s National Undergraduate Scholarship, and received a $3,000 award from the ATO foundation. "I was very honored to be recognized by the ATO Foundation as their National Scholarship Winner,” says Hogg. “As a President of Albion College ATO, however, it was much more satisfying to have our entire chapter recognized. It is rewarding to lead such a great group of guys. This was the culmination of a lot of hard work from every member, top to bottom." Hogg was awarded the top honor based on his service to ATO and Albion College, and his academic excellence. A member of the College’s Gerald R. Ford Institute for Public Policy and Service, Hogg has served as a teaching assistant for the Institute and the College’s First-Year Experience. He has worked for the City of Albion Recreation Department coaching three sports, directing the summer Little League, and mentoring community youth. Hogg has served as a student assistant to the project manager for the College’s new science complex, has been a member of the Student Senate and is an Albion College Fellow. A biology major at Albion College, Hogg is the son of David Hogg and Margaret Hogg of Harrietta and a graduate of Cadillac Senior High School. Albion College’s ATO chapter also earned an excellence award from the national fraternity. Hogg was further named an honorary member of the national board of directors. -30- .
