Albion College Hosts Annual
‘Sing-Along Messiah’ Monday, November 21, 2005 Reported by Breanna Dell, ’08 ALBION, Mich. — Hallelujah! Singers and listeners alike are invited to enjoy one of the Albion College Orchestra and Concert Choir's most popular annual events, the Sing-Along Messiah, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 in Goodrich Chapel on the Albion College campus. Soloists from the Concert Choir perform the arias, while an enthusiastic volunteer chorus sings the rest. More than 300 participants are expected to sing and listen to this rousing celebration of Handel’s masterpiece. Douglas Rose, Albion College director of choral music, brought the idea of the “Sing-along Messiah” from his experience with a similar event at Yale University. “The excitement of this event centers around the wonderful opportunity to bring the community and campus together for an evening of fellowship, song, and holiday celebration,” Rose said. Community singers are encouraged to bring their own music if they have it. Anyone wishing to attend rehearsals prior to the concert should contact the Music department. This concert is free and the public is invited to attend. For more information contact the Albion College Music department, 517-629-0481. Music Department Website Back to Campus News .
