Thursday, April 6, 2006

Reported by Bethany Corriveau, ’07

ALBION, Mich. – Enjoy a night of great music with the ladies of Albion College’s Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI)! The woman’s music fraternity will be presenting their annual American Composers Concert on Tuesday, April 11, at 9:30 p.m. in Albion College’s Goodrich Chapel.

The program features music performed by SAI members and includes solo pieces and instrumental ensembles, including a piece arranged by SAI member Regan Hedges.

“It’s going to be a good concert,” says Katherine Morgan, president of SAI. “We love to perform, especially amazing songs like ‘Rent!’” As a group, the sisters will be singing “Seasons of Love,” the opening song to the hit musical and movie. They will also perform selections from the movie “Sister Act.”

Although the concert is free and open to the public, donations are welcomed to support Sigma Alpha Iota’s philanthropic efforts. A raffle for a trip to the Firefly Club in Ann Arbor or a gift card to Marshall Music will also be held to benefit SAI Philanthropies, Inc. For mor information, contact Katherine Morgan at ksm13@albion.edu or 517/629-1748.
